39 more Mini Wires screened for Lafora - September 2015

Another successful Lafora screening session was held on 15th September with owners of 39 more Mini Wires. The day was organised by Sue Holt and Nora Price at the Poole House Veterinary Hospital in Lichfield.Owners travelled from far and wide to take part, and some sent blood samples by courier to the clininc from Scotland and Ireland. Sadly, some of the dogs' owners were looking for a confirmation diagnosis from the test as their Mini Wires are already showing symptoms. So, although we have made good progress, there is still work to be done to convince more Mini Wire breeders to test and use the results to avoid breeding Lafora-affected puppies.We send our thanks to Nora, Sue and the Poole House team.The next screening day is likely to be in February or March 2016.
