Trek Tracker

Overview

This screen allows you to get route predictions for a given transit system by selecting a route and either a direction and stop or starting stop and destination stop.

Additionally, when using a direction and starting stop, you can select a destination stop to get an estimate of how long your trip will take and set alerts for when you've arrived at your destination.

Transit System

Select this drop down to pick the transit system you're interested in. By default it will be set to your last selection, since most people use the same system frequently.

Once you've selected the transit system, the list of available routes for that system will load.

If there are any limitations as detailed in the Supported Transit Systems page, a pop up will be shown to make these limitations clear.

Route

Select this drop down to pick the route you're interested in.

This list is pulled from your local cache, if it was previously saved. Otherwise it's fetched from online and stored for faster retrieval later.

You can type into the text box to filter the list to find a particular Route more quickly.

From this dialog you can also view, or add and remove Routes from, your Favorite Routes.

Once you've selected the route, either the directions the selected route travels in will load, or the list of available stops, depending on the transit system.

Direction

If available, select this drop down to pick the direction of travel for the currently selected route.

This list is pulled from your local cache, if it was previously saved. Otherwise it's fetched from online and stored for faster retrieval later.

Once you've selected a direction of travel, the list of stops available for the route along that direction will load.

From Stop

Select this drop down to pick the stop you want to get predictions at.

This list is pulled from your local cache, if it was previously saved. Otherwise it's fetched from online and stored for faster retrieval later.

You can type into the text box to filter the list to find a particular Stop more quickly.

Once you've selected the stop you're interested in, predictions for the selected route at the stop in the selected direction begin to load if a direction was also specified.

Otherwise, you must then chose a destination stop to being loading predictions.

To Stop

Select this drop down to pick the stop you plan to get off at. If you select this option you can get an estimated time of travel from the starting stop to the ending stop.

Additionally, if you save this Trek with a destination stop set, you can set a Destination Alert to get notified when you're approaching your destination.

Track All Routes At Starting Stop

If you check this option you will get predictions for all routes that stop at the starting stop.

Note that since not all routes that start at the starting stop will also stop at the destination stop, you will not get an estimated trip time or be able to get a destination alert when you're riding a different route.

Predictions

Once you've selected a route, direction, and starting stop, the current set of predictions loads at the bottom of the screen.

See the Predictions page for help on reading the prediction display.

Accept Changes Button

When you choose to Edit a Trek from one of your Labels, this button is shown to allow you to confirm your changes. In this mode you can change anything about the Trek and it will be updated. The change will be reflected across all labels that Trek is tagged with.

This button is disabled if the current Trek already exists (that is, a Trek with the same route / direction / stop / destination stop / track all routes properties is already saved).
