The Paid version of TreKing has reached End of Life.
What this means:
This means that the Paid version will no longer be updated with new features, improvements, or bug fixes.
Why this is happening:
TreKing is migrating to a monthly subscription model where an in-app-purchase in the Free version will remove the ads and unlock the features, making it function exactly as the Paid app does now. As such, there is no longer a need to develop and maintain a Paid version of the app.
This reduces the number of version of the app from 4 (Free and Paid for two platforms) to just 2, which greatly simplifies development and management of the app.
If you paid for the Paid version:
You should keep the Paid version installed but migrate to the Free version which will be where all future updates go.
The Free version will detect that you have the Paid version installed and remove the ads and unlock the features, so it will function exactly as before.
You can migrate in three easy steps:
Use the Import / Export feature to export a back up of your data.
Download the Free version of the app.
In the Free version you just downloaded use the Import / Export feature to import the previous backup of your data.
That's it! Just keep the Paid version installed and it will act as a key to remove ads and unlock the extra features - just like using the Paid version.
If for some reason you don't want to migrate, you can keep using the Paid version and it will continue to function as it always did. You can just keep using it as though nothing has changed.
Just keep in mind that it will no longer receive updates and there may come a point where back-end changes render some of the functionality inoperable.
