I found a new thing recently.

‘bout as useful as any thing could be.

I use it to defend and to attack.

I call it an Alternative Fact.

Alternative Facts are my favorite kind.

I make ‘em up right here in my mind.

When they’re not real no one can tell

If I make ‘em up real well.

History’s described by those who win,

Avengers of some egregious sin.

The facts are always what they say

And there’s no one left to argue anyway.

Alternative Facts aren’t really lies.

They’re just my delusions in disguise.

They can be used so effectively

To make an alternative democracy.

Alternative Facts, alternative memories

Lead to alternative realities,

Alternative rights, alternative wrongs,

Alternative movements, alternative songs.

Alternative Facts, Fake News,

Just make up anything you choose.

Do it well so no one will see.

That will be good enough for me.

Alternative Facts need not be true

They’re good enough for me

And that should be good enough for you.
