Homework for Class 5
Follow the syllabus for readings and home experiment.
Next week's quiz will have questions on 1) calculating position from uniform acceleration (so memorize the equation from class), 2) Newton's three laws of motion, so review inertia, the units of force, and the phrasing of the laws, and 3) easy questions from this week's readings, so make sure to complete the chapter and the exercises but spend excess time reviewing the other material.
Homework for Class 4
Follow the syllabus for homework. Refer to chapter 3 if you have not already mastered position/velocity/acceleration graphs.
My lecture notes are not very descriptive. Just remember that, as you move from position to velocity to acceleration to jerk (etc) the graph transforms from parabola to slanted straight line to flat line (above the x-axis) to flat line (on the x-axis) with each step. Also, the distance traveled in a certain time is equal to the area under a velocity curve.
Homework for Class 2
The Syllabus, Instructions for Experiment 1, my Lecture Notes, and Lab Report Format (for future experiments) are attached below for reference.
Follow the syllabus for homework/practice problems and complete the attached experiment. Do not write a lab report yet for this experiment. Just collect the data.
