Week 1: Today, we talked about the feast of the birth of Blessed Virgin Mary which was celebrated on September 8th. Students made a mini grotto using popsicle sticks and a variety of stones and gems for Mary!


Week 2: Today, we discussed the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows and students colored in a sheet of the 7 sorrows of Our Lady. They spent the rest of class painting their own rosary holders.


Week 3: We began class by learning about St. Hildegard of Bingen and talked about her many books she wrote on natural remedies using herbs. We then painted pots, and the students planted their own herbs to take home and grow! 


Week 4: For this week's craft, we made sacrifice beads after learning about how St. Therese would use hers to offer up "gifts" for God throughout her day. We also had time to color in a sheet of St. Michael and have a sweet treat in celebration of Michaelmas!


Week 5: We discussed Christopher Columbus' journey from Spain to the New World. Students had a chance to paint their own maps and we ended the day with a giant puzzle of America!


Week 6: Today we talked about the feast of St. John Paul II, We discussed the life of this saint and highlighted his love for writing and the theater. For the craft, students made puppets and then they put together their own production just like Saint John Paul did.


Week 7: In celebration of All Saints Day, we read several stories about different saints and then made our stain glass saint picture. At the end of class, we had time for a quick saint guessing game!
