Applications being accepted for Stoneham Girl Scout Recognition Award
The Stoneham Girl Scout Service Team, invites any graduating high school senior girl to apply for the 2014 Stoneham Girl Scout Recognition Award. This award is available to any girl who has been registered to Stoneham Girl Scouts for at least three (3) years, one of which was an active participant at the Senior/Ambassador level (grade 10-12), and who is a graduating senior, whether from Stoneham High School, a parochial, private or vocational school, or other high school, and who is going on to any type of higher education.
. Applicants are asked to complete a simple form, which includes a brief essay on how girl scouting has influenced each applicant or prepared her for the future. You must also be available for a brief interview on either Wed, April 23rd or Wed, April 30th. The deadline for submitting the completed application to the Review Committee is April 20, 2014.
The chosen recipient will be notified by May 1st, 2014. The award will be presented at the annual Leader Recognition Night on May 8th, 2014. All graduating seniors are also invited to attend this event.
The Girl Scout Recognition Award Committee will present a $500 award to a student upon proof of registration at an institution of higher learning (i.e. college, technical or vocational school). If the recipient of this award is a student at Stoneham High School, she will still be eligible to receive a scholarship through the high school. This award does not interfere with any other scholarships as it is an award.
