Science 9

Science 9 is an integrated science course designed to give S-O students an overview and strong foundation of how science works.  Students will study six major topics in the course:  Earth’s systems (weather, climate, oceans, plate tectonics), Earth’s history, climate change, global sustainability, space systems, and matter cycles.

The course combines key concepts from all science disciplines (biology, chemistry, earth science and physics) so that students understand the interconnected nature of science. This core course is intended to provide a solid foundation in geophysical sciences for students.
