Spring 2014

During the 2013-2014 season, the shows of Shorewood Drama Jr. took a journey through great Victorian literature. After going down the rabbit hole with Lewis Carroll in Alice in Wonderland Jr. and traveling back in time with Jules Verne in Time Flies When You're Having Fun, our troupe finished the season with a reimagining of one of the greatest adventure tales of all time, Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne. A modern day sequel teeming with pop songs, movie melodies, Broadway show tunes and world music, our jukebox musical, Pop Goes the World sent teams of kids from around the globe…around the globe in the international “Tour de le Monde” contest. Students met characters from all over the Earth, traveled to lands both familiar and strange, experienced new and exciting cultures and, once again, was a part of a timeless tale told in a brand new way.
