The SFU Omics research day is an opportunity to showcase the great omics research happening at SFU. This full day event will feature oral presentations, poster presentations, and a keynote presentation about data-driven biology and the interdisciplinary fields that stem from it. This event is open to SFU students, staff, faculty, and alumni.

Thursday January 10th, 2019 at the Big Data Hub. Opening remarks at 9:00am. Sign-in/registration starts at 8:30am*

The event is free, but registration is required. Registration will close on Wednesday January 2nd, 2019 at 11:59pm. To register, please fill out the following form:

Note: if you are planning on submitting an abstract, it is the same form and you do not need to fill in the form twice. Make sure to submit your abstract by the abstract submission deadline (Presentation submissions closed, POSTER DEADLINE EXTENDED).

Presentations:

Throughout the day, there will be different presentations showcasing Omics research.

If you would like to share your omics research with the SFU community, you have two options:

(1) Oral presentation - These talks will be 10 minutes long, with additional time allotted for questions.

(2) Poster presentation - Posters will be displayed throughout the day and there will be a designated poster session.

We would love to have everyone that is doing omics research at SFU present at our Research Day. However, if we receive more abstract submissions than available spots, abstracts will be judged and ranked to select the

On top of expected criteria, such as clarity, relevance, and impact, we will try our best to ensure that there is a diversity in the chosen talks. Specifically, since omics is heavily interdisciplinary, we will try to ensure that there is a fair representation across the spectrum of disciplines.

If you are offered an oral or poster presentation, we will notify you by December 13th, 2018 and provide more details.

The deadline for abstract submissions is EXTENDED TO Wednesday December 5th, 2018 at 11:59PM.
