Objectives: To apply what we learned in 6.2 to help us write down a sine function that represents a given graph.
Preliminaries/Lead-In:
Suggested Procedures: I start out by going back to 6.2 and using the tables there to decide how we identify amplitdue, midline etc from the sine function. Then we write that into the table at the beginning of the 6.5A activity. I then let them get started on 1 and 2 - checking back in to make sure all is going well - especially on 2 which is the hardest for them. I also encourage them to use Mathematica to check the functions that they are getting to see if they match up with the graphs. Here I have to remind them to pay attention to where Mathematica is plotting the function when they are comparing.
Wrap-Up/Take-Away: Just making a point of going through the questions where they have to include all changes in one function.
