Tree Fund launched to help restore the wetlands

We're establishing a Tree Fund to build upon the recent ecological restoration work done by the City of Boston in the Roslindale Wetlands Urban Wild. While much progress has been made to restore the health of this local gem, there is still a long way to go. Trees play a crucial role in maintaining the health of wetland ecosystems by stabilizing soil, preventing erosion, and creating a rich habitat for countless species.

Contributions to the Tree Fund through Arbor Day (April 26, 2024) will go toward trees and other native plants for the Roslindale Wetlands, plantings in other areas of the Longfellow Area Neighborhood Association (LANA), and for the continued maintenance of the Roslindale Wetlands Urban Wild.

Give $200 or more before December 4 and receive a handcrafted wreath made of English ivy

A local fiber artist has crafted 20 decorative wreaths made of aggressive English Ivy vines removed with permission from the Roslindale Wetlands and surrounding properties. Each wreath is made from more than 10 English ivy vines, and will be given to those who contribute $200 or more to the Tree Fund by December 4.

Wreaths are approximately 14-15" across and come with a hanger made of hand-twisted twine also made of English Ivy.  Because of the variation in the natural materials used and the nature of handmade items, each wreath is unique.

For donations of $200 or more made before December 4, your wreath will be hand-delivered to Roslindale addresses during the week of December 4. (We do not have the capacity to ship or deliver wreaths outside of Roslindale, so arrangements can be made to pick up in Roslindale if you live outside the area.)

There are only 20 wreaths available; they will be offered as a premium until they are all claimed.
