Romsey - Hursley bus loop

Walked 8th July 2023

This starts with a bus ride on the Number 66 bus from Romsey to Hursley.  Depending on your finishing point in Romsey, it is about 8.5km (5 miles).

It includes woodland, farmland and a bit of pavement.  There are three potential pubs on route.  In Hursley The Kings Head and Dolphin and in Briashfield, The Dog and Crook.

Take the No. 66 bus from Romsey to Hursley and get off at John Keble CE Primary School or The Kings Head.

At the tarmac road, continue a little way until there is a turning on the right back into Ampfield Wood.  Continue on the gravel track and take the first turning on the left.

7

Where the Monarch's Way crosses the gravel track, take the footpath (this can be quite muddy in the winter).

Beware:

When walked in 2023, the arrows on the direction post pointed all ways except the Monarch's Way to the right.

At the next path, turn right along the deer fence keeping deer and humans out of the Hiller Gardens.

Follow this path all the way back to the Braishfield Road.
