This walk includes a stretch along the Test Way, then trough the back gardens of some homes on King Somborne, round the back of the school and then back through woods. The last part, in September, had a significant number of roaming pheasants which it was hard for Nelly to resist chasing.
Start and finish at SU342 266, just down the road from Michelmersh Church. There is a small parking space, enough for two cars by the side of the road.
Going clockwise means there are no steep hills to climb and a good variety. When you reach the John O'Gaunt pub, turn left along the road a little way before picking up the path again on the left.
After a couple of fields, the route goes through a series of back and front gardens until you reach King Somborne.
After the school, go past some houses and take the hole in the hedge on the right to join the bridle path.
