1. Park in the Wildlife Trust Car Park in Oxlease Meadows (https://w3w.co/yacht.strumming.prowl ) and walk through the gate to the canal path. Turn right along the tow path.

Note the car park is locked at 18:00

2. Continue along the path until you come to a bridge on the right and a gate on the left. Go through the gate and follow the path across the nature reserve.

On the right is Ashley Meadow. It is grazed in summer after the meadow flowers have finished. Early summer it is awash with rare wild flowers.

3. Continue on the path across the reserve until you come to a gate on the left and a bridge straight ahead. Here you can deviate left down the path to the bird hides (NO DOGS allowed here).

Continue on the narrower path over the bridge.

4. Come out of the nature reserve, past the Wildlife Trust signs and turn left along the edge of the stream.

5. Cross over the next footbridge and continue along the path, now with the stream on your left.

When you get to the paved private road with a house entrance on your left, turn right and head towards the main road. At the road, turn left and walk along the pavement until you reach turning on the left, opposite the garage.

6. Follow the Fishlake Meadows pavement until you come to the second Robert Whitworth Drive turning. Cross over and take the gravel footpath back to the canal.

8. Follow the path until you reach the canal, then turn left.

Continue under the road bridge, with the canal on you right. Under the road bridge are some information and art boards depicting the canal's history. Shortly after the bridge is the path you started from.
