Houghton Rectangle (3.5 miles)

Start at grid reference SU 341 321, the lane to the west of the main road through Houghton -there is room to park just just off the road.

There is a gentle climb up the byway with hedges either side and occasional glimpses of the surrounding fields. This was quite muddy when we walked it in February 2016.

At the T-junction, turn left and follow the path south west until you join the Clarendon Way. Turn left and follow the track south east. This stretch has great views out across the surrounding countryside.

At Houghton Farm turn left again to and follow the footpath back to the car.

The paths are a bit straight, but it is worth it for the views in the second half of the walk.
