After CYT signed off on March 30, 2020 from producing aerosol (intubation) boxes and swab shields, we immediately searched for other collaborative partners to continue the worthwhile project..
On March 31, 2020, courtesy of Ms. Alice Lim, we got to know Jeffrey Kho, an architect, who has been advocating on making the aerosol boxes and swab shields available to all hospitals in the Philippines to be used in the fight against COVID19.
At about 1 pm, after an online chat, we agreed on a collaborative effort. We will also shout out to all those involve in producing aerosol boxes and swab shield to communicate with us so that there will be a national collaboration, coordination, alignment and integration to achieve the following:
Project Aerosol Box and Swab Shield Against COVID-19 - ParaSaPinas
Project Goal and Key Performance Indicators: NO health professionals using aerosol box and swab shield while doing procedures on the mouth, nose, throat and respiratory tree of patients have acquired COVID-19 infection while doing the procedures.
Project Facilitating Goal: to supply all hospitals in the Philippines with at least 5 aerosol boxes and 1 swab shield (within 2 months) [may be done in collaboration with other donor agencies]
Project Output: Hospitals given aerosol boxes and swab shield are using them maximally. [must have quantifiable targets - number of patients / number of procedures]
Project Key Performance Indicator: NO health professionals using aerosol box and swab shield while doing procedures on the mouth, nose, throat and respiratory tree of patients have acquired COVID-19 infection while doing the procedures.
We mapped out plans (reviewed what we had and we looked forward):
Create a masterlist of all hospitals in the Philippines
- name, address and bed capacity with
- point persons may be hospital director or medical director or chief of clinics (any doctor head) and their contact number
- current number of aerosol boxes and swab shield in their hospitals (inventory)
Sound off through FB and website and other vehicles to people who are producing the acrylic boxes and shield and entice them to collaborate, coordinate, align, and integrate with us or with them for a nationwide effort.
Scout for new comers, volunteers or donors to help (will share with them the most acceptable specifications so far).
Prepare a survey to evaluate project.
