Closing Remarks (to be delivered jointly by Jen Adrian Montemayor and Mary Elise Severino, Most Exalted Brother and Sister of the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority)

The Mu Relief is a program of the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. It is activated whenever there is a disaster in the community in which the MUs can extend assistance in terms of medical supplies, medical services, relief goods and finances. We consider COVID19 pandemic as a disaster which triggered us to help. As early as March 2020, we activated the MU Relief to help protect medical frontliners not only in our home ground, which is the Philippine General Hospital, but also nationwide.

In behalf of the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority, we would like to thank Dr. Reynaldo Joson, a Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity Brother of Batch 74, for initiating and conceptualizing a systematic nationwide anti-COVID19 assistance program for Mu Relief. He was able to identify and recruit Mu Sigma Phi alumni brothers and sisters practicing in all the provinces in the Philippines and made them anti-COVID19 MU Relief Coordinators. For the first time in the history of the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority, we now have a nationwide network of Mu Brods and Sisses who can serve as Mu Relief Coordinators. As envisioned by our Brother Rey Joson, the current nationwide anti-COVID19 Mu Relief Coordinatorship will lay down the groundwork for a full development of a nationwide MU disaster response and relief team whenever there are disasters in the Philippines for the Mu to provide assistance to.

In behalf of the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Sorority also, we would like to thank the following for forging partnership with us and helping us:

1. The board of judges of the Excellent Practice Awards – Brods Anthony Cordero, Hari Hamoy, and Paul Michael Hernandez and Sis Lyn Redoble

2. HelpThru Philippines

3. Of course, all the donors who channeled and entrusted their donations to Brod Rey Joson for our Mu Relief Against COVID19 nationwide

Thank you, everybody. Mabuhay kayong lahat. Mabuhay tayong lahat.
