Debjani Majumdar is the co-founder of Rabinandan. She, along with her husband, Suresh Chandra Majumdar, started Rabinandan on 9th May, 1999, the birthday of Rabindranath Tagore.

Debjani started her musical career at the acclaimed musical institute in Kolkata, Gitabitan. She obtained her degree in Rabindrasangeet (Geet Bharati) in 1983. She complemented it with a degree in Hindustani Classical Music (Sangeet Bharati) in 1993. She also completed several certificate courses on the theory of Rabindrasangeet. During her long musical training period, she has trained under the tutelage of stalwarts such as Nihar Bindu Sen, Gita Sen, Brojen Biswas and Ashish Bhattacharya.

Debjani is a vocalist performing on All India Radio since 1993. She has also performed in numerous cultural programs in Kolkata over years.

Since starting Rabinandan, she has ventured into program direction and elocution. Rabinandan delivers several public performances every year. Debjani is the primary director for these performances. She writes the scripts and recites them as part of the several dance dramas and musical performances. In recent times, Rabinandan has had the honor to have acclaimed elocutionist, Jagannath Basu, join Debjani in duets during our programs.
