Rabinandan started on 9th May 1999 in Kolkata with only a handful of members with the ardent desire to actively practise and promote the music and literature of the great poet and Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore. It was founded by (late) Shri Suresh Chandra Majumdar and Smt. Debjani Majumdar. Our Tagorean journey was blessed on that day by the presence of Rabindrasangeet stalwarts Shri Nihar Bindu Sen and Smt. Geeta Sen.
Over the next several years, Rabinandan grew steadily due to the untiring efforts of the founders. Smt. Majumdar applied her vast experience and training in Rabindrasangeet (Sangeet Bharati) and Indian classical music (Geeta Bharati) to ensure that only the purest form of Tagore’s artistic creations were inculcated among the students of Rabinandan.
Today, we organize a number of cultural programs at premier locations in India to promote Tagore's works. We collaborate with prominent personalities in the areas of music, dance and other creative arts. Our vision is to make the younger generation aware of the richness of Tagore's artistic and literary creations and actively involve them in keeping his work alive.
