Trash & Recycling
We are fortunate to have a common trash space. It is the green shed located directly outside building 1. All trash must be sealed and placed in a trash barrel. Do not put trash on top of barrels. All barrel lids must close completely. If the barrels don’t close completely, we will have a rat issue. This is a basic sanitation, safety and health issue for which we are collectively responsible. If there is not enough room for your trash in the barrels, unit owners and tenants are responsible for removal; don’t leave trash bags on the floor of the shed.
Recycling trash must be placed in clear trash bags.
Tenants and owners will be fined $50 if their garbage is found on top or to the side of an unclosed barrel.
Also, do not leave trash on the street curb. We are fortunate to have a company that brings all trash out to curb for pick-up. Trash is picked up by the City of Boston on Monday and Friday mornings at approximately 8:00am.
Of note, the City does not pick up computer monitors or paint or any other hazardous waste.
Complete information can be found on the City of Boston Recycling & Sanitation site.
