Seedhead
Love your garden - this is the Pottery Workshop for You!
We will be creating a gorgeous seedhead from stoneware clay, making them suitable for year-round outdoor display in your garden. Crafted from two pinch pots joined together to form a hollow sphere, these seedheads feature added ribs and texture for a lovely rustic feel. We will be adding a delicate top to the seed head using press moulds for easy creation.
Beginners can learn the techniques of making a pinch pot in this workshop, while more advanced potters can explore their own shapes and ideas. Decide whether you prefer a pop of colour in your flower bed or a more natural-looking seedhead. There will be a choice of different coloured glazes for your seedhead, or you can use oxides for a more realistic finish.
These are designed to fit over a metal stake which is included in a choice of lengths with your finished seedhead. Alternatively, you can use a bamboo cane or any garden stick.
All materials, equipment and tools are provided along with tea and coffee. Note -You will find making a pinch pot (or thumb pot) easier with shorter finger nails!
Please note your seedhead cannot be taken home on the day. Your pottery will need to be dried, fired and glazed. They will be ready to collect at your convenience from the venue approximately 2 to 3 weeks later.
