FAQs
What type of photos do you need to price a model?
Any quick snap shots of a house will do as long as I can roughly see a couple of the sides of the house. Literally one of the front and one from the back is fine. You can either email them to me or post them if easier. If you aren’t able to supply photographs it is not a problem but please call me to discuss.
How big will my model be?
The size of a model depends on the width of a property as most houses are wider or deeper than they are tall. The maximum size of the base of a model is roughly the size of an A4 piece of paper. If you choose not to have a base, then you are able to have the model generally larger.
Can I have a smaller model and would it be cheaper?
You can have a smaller model. The smaller the model, and therefore scale, the more difficult it is to achieve a high level of detail. It would not necessarily make the model cost less if it were smaller. I can easily make one with a base half the size of an A4 piece of paper if desired or smaller.
How long will it take from ordering to receiving my model?
The time it takes to model a house again depends on it’s complexity and the finish you choose. In addition there are time allowances for the clay to dry, be fired, cool, decorate, fire again etc. You should allow 8 weeks for me to complete the model. This does vary of course depending on how many models I have on order. I will always give an estimated completion date on ordering. If you have a specific date to receive the model by, please tell me and I’ll endeavour work to this.
Can you remove certain features from a house?
Yes. if there are some undesirable features, such as a satellite dish or waste pipes etc, that you do not want on the model, I can easily omit these for you.
