Discover Your Own Clay Projects!
Creative Clay @ Straight Curves, Mondays 2-4:30pm or 6-8:30pm, starting 22nd Januray 2027.
Creative Clay sessions are designed for those with some pottery experience who want to explore their own ideas and take their skills further. Bring your own projects to life—whether you choose to make one larger statement piece or several smaller items—with expert help, guidance, and troubleshooting on hand whenever you need it.
Take your pottery further and bring your own independent projects to life in this flexible 5-week course, running on Mondays for 2.5 hours a session.
Designed for those who have already attended at least one pottery workshop or have pottery experience, this block includes 2kg of stoneware clay to where you bring your own ideas to make whatever you like. Rather than following step-by-step instructions, you will work independently on your own unique designs with expert help, guidance, and troubleshooting on hand whenever you need it.
There will be 4 sessions of making, after which all your items will be bisque fired and brought back for the last session when you will glaze your items.
Please note that you can use your 2kg of clay to make one large item over the several sessions or lots of different smaller things. If you make more than 1 item per session there is an additional charge of £5 per item (that gets fired and glazed) to cover the firing and glazing costs on top of the course fee.
Please note that kiln capacity limits the size of fired pieces. Items should fit within a 20 cm cube unless you are making one larger piece; full size guidance will be provided during the course.
Who is this class suitable for?
This class is suitable for those who have already attended some pottery workshops or have previous experience, meaning it is not suitable for absolute beginners; instead, it is aimed at makers looking to increase their skills and knowledge with some guidance and help along the way.
