Noise abatement procedure -

(a) An operator shall establish operating procedures for noise abatement during instrument flight operations in compliance with

ICAO PANS-OPS Volume 1 (Doc8168-OPS/611).

(b) Take-off climb procedures for noise abatement specified by an operator for any one aeroplane type should be the same for all aerodromes.

Non-precision approach procedure - A standard instrument approach procedure in which no electronic glideslope is provided; e.g., VOR, TACAN, NDB, LOC, ASR, LDA, or SDF approaches.

Not authorized -

Notam – a notice to airmen which contains information concerning the establishment, condition or change in any aeronautical facility, service procedure or hazard, the timely knowledge of which is essential to personal concerned with flight operations

Notam class 1: telecommunication composition of NOTAM; information on aeronautical meteorological facilities and services available for international air navigation.

Availability of Aeronautical Information Service in cases where 24-hour service is not provided; decoding of NOTAM for pre-flight planning

Notam class 2: written communications provision of information to the aeronautical information service by each of the State services associated with aircraft operations publication in AIP of the coordinates of the antennae of stations providing aeronautical mobile and/or aeronautical navigation services, to an accuracy of at least one-tenth of a minute.

NOTAMs are issued (and reported) for a number of reasons, such as hazards such as air-shows, parachute jumps, kite flying, rocket launches, etc flights by important people such as heads of state (sometimes referred to as Temporary Flight Restrictions, TFRs closed runways inoperable radio navigational aids military exercises with resulting airspace restrictions inoperable lights on tall obstructions temporary erection of obstacles near airfields (e.g. cranes passage of flocks of birds through airspace (a NOTAM in this category is known as a BIRDTAM notifications of runway/taxiway/apron status with respect to snow, ice and standing water (a SNOWTAM) notification of an operationally significant change in volcanic ash or other dust contamination (an ASHTAM) software code risk announcements with associated patches to reduce specific vulnerabilities
