Congratulations to Tom Black and Michael McCollum on Little Blackie!

Tom and Michael triumphed today in the first Viking Open- an historic occasion. Capt' Black was awarded the Treasures of the Hostess of Midgard for the victory.

And so, Capt' Black begins making good on his promise to beat all Viking captains before claiming his place as a Son Of Odin.

The race was a lot of fun and definitely challenging, with 20 knot winds, gusts to 30+, and 6' rollers. The Sea is a harsh teacher, and we learned more from her today- especially the benefits of reefing.

Accolades to Capt Steckman and Team Renaissance for giving Little Blackie a run for her money.

The Vikings heartily welcome our newest members, Dave Wagner and Esther Fenton of the SV Hasenpfeffer. Great job toughing it out!
