The Use of York was a variant of the Roman Rite that as the norm in Yorkshire, England until the great suppresion under King Henry VIII. There have been some attempts at translation, using non traditional English. We are in the process of creating an English/Latin York Missal, Breviary and Propers using traditional English in the translation, preserving the Catholic undertone which is sometimes neutralized in non Catholic English translations. This is a huge project, and there will be errors at first but we hope as we progress, the English will be smoothed out and the formatting will be improved. Any volunteers for the English translation is greatly appreciated!
