LandIS Soils Portal
National soils information and datasest are now available free sof charge, via the LandIS Soils Portal. Using this portal one can:
View interactive maps showing the distribution and properties of soils.
Search for soils data by location or theme.
Click on the map to see more details (properties) about specific soil features (mapping polygons).
Compare different datasets to better understand soils in a given location.
Download data for use offline, if required, or use various web services to access the soils remotely.

Work is continuing on the fossils database (accessible here).
Further work on the geoarchaeology of 'ghost pingos'
We are working with the Norfolk Ponds Project and the Brecks Landscape Partnership team to prepare an ambitious bid to the Lottery Heritage Fund this year. This will build on recent work androll out 'Ice Age' pond restoration in Norfolk and Suffolk with multiple partners across a three- to five-year timespan.
