Work is underway in 2015-2016 for a new interpretive project in the Breckland area. This part of the Breaking New Ground Landscape Partnership initiative funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project has four strands:

  • 'The Brecks Earth Heritage Trail' - interpreting geoheritage at 20 sites through leaflet, website and smartphone ‘app’.

  • ‘Ice Age Brecks’ - three day schools focused on Pleistocene heritage. The first was delivered this April by Dr Peter Allen, Tim Holt-Wilson and John Lord. The other two are scheduled for 2016.

  • 'Upon This Rock' - a church building stones day school, delivered July 2015 by Jenny Gladstone, Dr Stephen Heywood, Tim Holt-Wilson and Dr Mike Horne.

  • 'The Brecks for Land Managers' - a day school about geoheritage for anyone who has responsibility for managing land in Breckland; delivered October 2015 by Charlotte Ennals (FWAG), Debbie Gosman (Natural England), Tim Holt-Wilson (NGP) and Edward Martin (Suffolk Institute of Archaeology & History).
