'Breaking New Ground' is a Landscape Partnership project in the Breckland area of Norfolk and Suffolk. £2.2 million is being spent by partners (of which £1.5 million contributed by the HLF). There are four strands of project activity:

  • Conserving or restoring the built and natural features that create the historic landscape character;

  • Increasing community participation in local heritage;

  • Increasing access to and learning about the landscape area and its heritage;

  • Increasing training opportunities in local heritage skills.

The NGP is contributing four Earth heritage projects:

  1. Brecks Earth Heritage Trail - launch in 2016

  2. Upon This Rock - a church building stones day school event - July 2015

  3. Geological Landscapes - a workshop for land managers - October 2015

  4. Ice Age Brecks - three day school events - April 2015, April and May 2016

In the meantime, you can follow 'Breaking New Ground' on Twitter and Facebook.
