SSSI site condition monitoring work
The NGP was commissioned by Natural England via The Geology Trusts to carry out site condition surveying work on seven sites in Norfolk: Beeston Cliffs, Bilsey Hill Pit, Blackborough End Pit, Broome Heath, Catton Grove Chalk Pit, Hunstanton Cliffs, Hunstanton Esker, Leet Hill Pit Kirby Cane, Wells Chalk Pit and Wiveton Downs. The work was carried out by Gilbert Addison and Tim Holt-Wilson, with kind permission of the landowners.
Beeston Bump hill, the landward part of the Beeston Cliffs SSSI, where an important sequence of Early and Middle Pleistocene marine, freshwater and glacial sediments is preserved.
