Summary of geodiversity interest

Holocene peatland and marine alluvium giving rise to open water, fen and carr habitats; broads developed in former early Mediaeval peat diggings; rivers including lower reaches of Bure, Waveney and Yare and their tributaries including Ant, Chet and Thurne.

There are also significant exposures of early and middle Pleistocene marine and glacial sediments.
