AONBs

The Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The Norfolk Coast AONB is the only one in Norfolk. It is managed by the Norfolk Coast Partnership, to conserve the landscape and promote the enjoyment and sustainable use of the Area. It covers a total area of just over 450 sq km, which is mainly undeveloped coastline and local hinterland.

The Hulver and Scrib Hills, Salthouse, are remnants of a dissected glacial outwash plain.

In 2011 the Norfolk Coast Partnership published 'Geological Landscapes of the Norfolk Coast'. This online book introduces five areas of striking geodiversity in the Norfolk Coast AONB, and explains how these were formed and how they relate to the present day landscape.
