Norfolk Soils

Norfolk has interesting soil diversity derived from the action of living things and weathering processes on its complex of bedrock and superficial deposits.

Soils in Norfolk are classified into 47 associations. These have recently been re-characterised as Soilscapes, which are mapped on the Soilscapes Viewer.  For example, Isleham 2 association is Soilscapes 23.
