Norfolk geo-sites online

Post date: Mar 21, 2013 2:39:33 PM

Work is progressing on the new Norfolk geo-site database at NBIS.

Sam Neal is creating the database structure and functionality by customising a version of the Second Site biodiversity recording software. Tim Holt-Wilson is editing the Geodiversity Audit and combining it with the results of ground-truthing to create a unitary set of records.

The result will be a new online resource for the people of Norfolk to understand more about the county's Earth heritage, and is due to go live in 2014.

The work is generously funded by the Curry Fund of the Geologists' Association and the Norfolk Biodiversity Recorder Fund.
