The Division Fallacy is a Fallacy of Ambiguity is similar to the Composition Fallacy; however, in the Division Fallacy, the faulty assumption that, because an entity has a particular characteristic, that entity's parts also share the same characteristic:
Example: When full, Mr. Spagnolo's backpack is extremely heavy; therefore, each item in his backpack must be heavy, too.
(Mr. Spagnolo has lots of "ultra-light" items in his backpack. A backpack can be filled with 40 pounds of feathers or 40 pounds of bricks... either way, it still weighs 40 pounds + the weight of the pack itself.)
Example: The United States is a wealthy country; therefore, every person in the U.S.A. is wealthy, too.
(The United States has lots of homeless people.)
