Music Educator of the Year Award

The purpose of this award is to honor a District 3 music educator who demonstrates high standards of professional conduct and exceptional practice in the field of music education in the schools of Maine.

This award exists as one opportunity taken by the District 3 organization to set high standards of professional conduct and exceptional practice amongst those who serve as music educators in our district. The recipient shall stand as District 3's representative for excellence for one year following the presentation of this award.

Process of Selection

The District Chair will appoint a selection committee made up of no fewer than three NAfME members. 

Completed nomination form (see below) by April 1.

The committee should review the nomination forms before the May Executive Board meeting and select the candidate for this award who best meets the criteria listed. The results are then turned over to the District 3 Chair, who is in charge of arranging for the plaque, letter and dues.

The award is announced and presented at the recipient's spring school performance

Nominations

Any member of MMEA District 3 or school administrator from a District 3 school may nominate a person deemed worthy of this special recognition for contributions to music education. Please check the list below for past recipients and submit the form below. The deadline for nominations is April 1
