Derbyshire Rescue Team

This photograph is believed to be of an early 1900s Rescue Team from Derbyshire. It shows the team wearing Aerorphor Breathing apparatus*.

* The breathing apparatus worn in this picture is now believed to be of the Aerorphor 'Liquid air' type. Only 2 areas of the UK used this type of equipment, namely the Midlands rescue stations (Chesterfield, Mansfield, Ilkeston, Ashby) and the North East Stations (Crook, Ashington, Elswick, Benwell Towers and Houghton le Spring). The team has been identified as Chesterfield. My thanks to Brian Robinson for this subsequent information.
