North Staffordshire Colliery Owners Medal

The medal awarded by the North Staffordshire Colliery Owners to rescue team members to acknowledge their participation in a notable mine rescue/disaster. Subsequent events would be noted with the grant of 'bars' to the medal. Each bar naming the event and year. The medal shown was given to James Beech of the Birchenwood Brigade and carries the name of New Hem Heath 1915 on the bar (see below)
