Past Performance

So again Northwood has done better than the National Performance on the APWH exam. 13.3% got 5s, 23.3% got 4s, 40% got 3s, 13.3% got 2s, and 10% got 1s.

It was by all accounts a really hard exam this year. I think you should all be proud of yourselves, this is a tough course which College Board says should be taken by seniors after an introductory world history course, which none of you have had so seriously congratulations! Some of you put in a lot of effort at the end, but perhaps the lesson to be learned is to put that effort in from the beginning (especially as the CCOT was from the earlier periods).

MCPS recently released data on performance on AP exams and I must say I think my kids at Northwood did pretty darn well last year. The chart below shows Northwood in red, MCPS average in purple, and other schools in blue (the highest one is Whitman). Last year's students' percentage of 5s was down slightly, our passing rate jumped to 86%!!!! Very excited. So 21% got 5s, 33% got 4s, and 31% got 3s. Nice job class!!! Yea! Hopefully the kids this year will rise to the challenge!
