The hull

To build the ROV motor frame and hull we did with what we had in stock in the warehouse:

  • PVC pipe 11.5 mm, 60 mm, 50mm

  • PVC Pipe T adapter 50mm

  • old Technisub Vera dive torch that we have ( kept in stock for ages just in case :)

  • Marine grade silicone sealant

  • 2 component epoxy paste adhesive

  • Hot glue

  • The magic dremel Rotary tool

  • Diving lead as ballast.

Propulsion frame:

"I" frame support with 280 mm in between motor axis. This number is absolutely arbitrary

Some hot glue to assemble everything, the motors are temporary held by cable tie. In the future we will use stainless steel clamps.

Hull:

made from 500mm length of 11.5mm diameter PVC pipe.

By chance the diameter of the Technisub Vera diving torch fit exactly inside the PVC pipe. Hugh nicely cut it with the Dremel tool and silicon sealed and glued the male threaded part at the 2 end of the PVC pipe.

Yesterday hugh went diving for watertight test and buoyancy check.he leave for 2 hours underwater at 10m depth. Not a drop of water went inside the hull. The inside was dry.

Hurrah!!! Hurrahhh!!!!
