Project Description:

A couple years ago i setup a plex media server on an ubuntu computer to broadcast all my videos (around 3 To of movies, series and music) on the local network via LAN cable or Wifi connection. With this setup i can watch my movies or listen to my music either from a web browser (google chrome) or on android platform with the Plex App. It will probably work as well for iphone, itablet and any mac product but i don't have such devices and can't test on it.

Then i discover the open source Rasplex project based on Raspberry Pi micro computer to make a plex media player connected on a TV.

I have decided to give a go on making a small rasplex client connected to my Samsung TV to access my plex media server file via my local network.

My Plex Media Server Architecture:

The idea is to setup Rasplex ditrib on SD Card for a Rapberry Pi2 Board connected to my local network via ethernet cable.

The Rapberry Pi2 board is going to be connected to the Samsung TV via HDMI cable.

The raspberry pi2 board is going to be powerd either by a usb charger phone or by the usb connector of the Samsung TV.

Controlling The Rasplex from a DFR IR remote and a IR receiver led connected to the raspberry GPIO.

Searching on the web, i discover that the Plex App for android can as well remote control the Rasplex.
