"A woman with epilepsy is totally different from a man with epilepsy as she needs to deal with womanhood issues such as menstruation, contraception and pregnancy.
#BreakTheBias, women with epilepsy are much stronger than we thought. They are wonderful, optimistic, marvelous, exceptional and never-failing. Different blooming flowers represent beauties from different regions and races. With great hope and courage, women with epilepsy are saviours who ride on the purple plane and fly across all the obstacles, thus living a meaningful life."

"A strong woman has been through many changing phases of her challenging life. Starting puberty hit, undergoing menstruation, marriage, pregnancy phase, childbirth, breastfeeding, and birth control.
Being a mother and parental life might be challenging with some of them to balance with a professional career, living with seizures, and need to counter medication side effects. Despite concerning her general health, their bone health is also a matter. After all, deal with body hormone changes, and menopause in the elderly phase.
To conclude, a beautiful woman can do many hard things!"

A message to all Epilepsy Warriors. Here is a brief description of my artwork.
"Dear Women, remember no one can break us apart unless we allow them to. As Epilepsy survivors we have faced so many ups and downs together. Let them break us into a thousand pieces, but don't give up just because of what someone said about us.
We never change our life until we step out of our comfort zone, change begins at the end of our comfort zone. So, let's BREAK our comfort zone and then we can realize what we exactly are.
Always remember certain times the broken glass pieces also can turn into a beautiful art. So never ever give up, just focus on your life goals and achieve them.
To all Epilepsy Warriors out there, keep fighting the good fight..."

"This poster represents a girl who aspires to be a woman without any discrimination, bias, and stereotypes.
People around her, on the other hand, should assist her in achieving her goals. She has the ability to do it, but don't leave her alone.
She is capable of swimming on her own, but for her safety, her father must accompany her. She can pray like everyone else and together with others. She can recite "Iqra," but the effects of too many seizures cause her to forget it all the time, so she relies on "Ustazah" to remind her.
She is allowed to touch the animal, but she needs her aunt to accompany her because the seizures can make her aggressive. She can also bake a cake, but the recipe is too complicated, therefore grandma must assist her in preparing the cake step by step.
Girls are also like other boys, they want to enjoy a good challenge. Girls with epilepsy have urges as well, but, please, don't put her aside. Never left them alone."
Nurul Afiqah Mohd Shah - 1st Prize Winner
"This poster is inspired from my experience as a fighter of epilepsy. When I was first diagnosed as an epilepsy patient at 10 months old, I tried to search for strength to win this battle and break the bias or discrimination.
Epilepsy extremely affected my studies, and others usually look down on me as my results were always disappointing. My condition shouldn't be the reason for me to quit studying. The fact that I'm a woman doesn't make it easier. Others always say it's better for me to get married early and just be a housewife rather than struggling with my studies, but I know I am a fighter. I challenged myself to prove them wrong, and I did!
I managed to graduate and secured a stable job before I got married. To epilepsy fighters out there, find your strength and never give up. I believe that we are strong warriors and we will break the bias. We can show them that we are also capable to have a normal life, but better - because we are born with super power! Auras and attacks shouldn't bring us down but to lift us up to be better."
These are e-Posters from our epilepsy fighters and carers. Thank you to our supporters for sharing their unique and creative outlook on epilepsy.
