LEADERSHIP PROJECT

*Overview: There will be two graded sections to the leadership project.

Part A is a written essay on the topic of leadership and Part B is a visual poster aid that will be used for the in-class presentation. Have fun with this assignment and be creative!!

Description for Part A: Leadership Essay (20 points)

In a ~2 page, double spaced response using the standard English class format (introduction, 3 paragraph body, and conclusion), please choose one person that you feel is a good leader and support why you believe they are.

*In the support, discuss three major personality traits, attitudes, and/or leadership styles that makes the person a good leader. Use specific examples or actions that support your opinion.

*The leader can be anyone from any setting (a family member, friend, world business leader, political figure, or sports icon, etc).

*In your conclusion, please compare and contrast your own personal leadership skills and abilities to this person and how they might change how you act in your personal life.

*Remember to cite any outside resources using MLA format (include people you talk to, websites, print articles, etc).

Description for Part B: Leadership Poster (20 points)

After writing Part A, please create a poster that “shows” your essay in a visual form. The way you create this is up to you, but the poster must be comprised of/include the following:

*Use a Standard-sized poster board (NOT the 3 fold)

* Name of the leader clearly written

* Labels of the three traits that make this person a leader

* Clear, original graphics of the leader and graphics that support or exemplify the traits of the leader (10 Graphics Minimum)

The poster will be turned in and also shared in small groups on the due date. A peer evaluation will be conducted on this day.
