CPR/First Aid and Wilderness Survival Curriculum

Course Description

In the first quarter of this class, the students will be trained and certified in CPR and First Aid as well as learning valuable survival techniques in a variety of situations. Students will also learn a variety of safety and survival techniques for both wilderness and general survival.

Course Intentions

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able

to:

1. Learn the skills needed to address someone who has gone into

cardiac or respiratory arrest.

2. Develop the skills to provide adequate first aid.

3. Become American Red Cross Certified

3. Able to address several emergency situations (i.e.) car repair, fires, water procurement, Shelter Building, Snow Emergencies, Ocean Emergencies, Wild Animal Interactions.
