"Potty" Game: Hay Day Post 1

Since I already play Angry Birds on my phone, I decided to load the game Hay Day on my iPhone 4s on Thursday July 10th. I searched on iTunes for a popular free game and this one appealed to me. It is a game where you plan and create your farm, buy farm animals, plots of land, and other things you need to create a satisfying farm. The farm then needs to be tended an this tending of the farm is how you play the game. When I first began to play the game had pop up windows that explained exactly what I needed to do to get started. After about 10 minutes I had the basics down and jumped up to level 2 very quickly. The first 3 levels were very quick during which I planted, reaped, and replanted my crops, purchased equipment, and figured out how to sell crops and make more money from processing my goods. That night, after turning out the light, I heard the sound of chickens clucking! That woke me up and that is how I learned that the game keeps playing even though I am not actually playing it. The clucking was a notification that my chickens had eggs that needed to be gathered. This is definitely how the game keeps you coming back for more. After turning the sound off on my phone I slept for the night. However, when I awoke, the notifications appeared on the screen before I even entered the security code to use my phone. Other things needed tending. As I have played for the last few days, I have further investigated the game and explored my area as well as my neighbor Greg's farm. People come to visit my farm and make orders as well as an order billboard is frequently updated with orders from other places. I make points and can level up by interacting with these people as well as just managing my farm. There is a Shop in which I can buy more things to make my farm better. Unfortunately, there are many cool things that I cannot afford - they either cost too much or require diamonds and it is very difficult to get diamonds. I have a mine but I can't access it until level 24 so I am just working working working until I get there. Problems arise that I need to solve such as my barn and silo frequently become full and I can't store any more goods inside. So then, I must interact with other players to sell goods. Another funny thing that has happened is that my chickens all have scuba gear on and I couldn't figure out what to do about that. I have decided that they want to swim so I need a swimming pool. However, I cannot afford that. There are ways to pay out of my pocket for more play money/coins but I am not going to spend money to play this game.

The game gives me a feeling of satisfaction and entertainment for sure. I am currently a level 10 farmer. There are many levels to go and my farm could be a lot more interesting. Time flies by as I play and investigate my options. However, I am very busy so the game has to wait.
