Description: Participants and Meeting Notes
First Meeting in January: January Notes
Description: This meeting was a basic share-out of technology used in each teacher's classroom along with one or two ways they are being used in the classroom. The group of teachers meeting during first lunch are more familiar with each other as they are mostly the same grade level and more of the teachers are members of a group called iRead in which the teachers are given sets of iPads for use in the classroom.
Second Meeting in February: February Notes
Description: Three first lunch Tech Munch teachers shared more in depth about how they implement technology in their classrooms. Discussions included how to flip the classroom and how to implement apps in the classroom. More tech savvy teachers appear to share more and others ask questions for clarification.
Listen along as first lunch Tech Munch Teachers discuss their latest tech innovations. Please note there is only audio, no video of teachers eating...protecting their privacy.....and you will hear munching.
Listening to the recording brings to light the need for guidelines about side conversations. It is lunch, but for all to hear, it is helpful to eliminate side conversations when possible. This topic was discussed at the end of the meeting and readdressed at the March Tech Munch.
Third Meeting in March: March Notes
Description: By our third meeting many apps and projects had been shared. Certain teachers have become "super sharers" coming prepared to the Munch with examples of student work and / or lists of apps to share. The second lunch tech meetup group left the February meeting with plans for receiving training on certain applications.
JUST FOR FUN!
The following is our Tech Munch theme song created immediately after a teacher shared a new app called smule. We signed in and tried it immediately. Check out our theme song here: http://www.smule.com/recording/papa-e-brass-knuckles/350968761_113747390
