Description: Observations of Technology Use in Classrooms
Image 1:
Image 1: Student work created in Comic Life. Technology Coach created a mini lesson and delivered to students. Students then created their own Comic Life documents about Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. Comic Life is an application not specific to ios devices like iPads but but is readily available on desktop computers and laptops on school campus.
Images 2 and 3: Student work created using a QR code generator. Students in this class enjoy 1 to 1 iPads and their teacher, a generous participant in Tech Munch has shared this specific activity during Tech Munch.

Students are drawing their own temples while studying the Greeks and Romans.

Background: Our campus has approximately 50 teachers with only 5 classrooms at 1 to 1 iPads and 6 other teachers with only 8 total iPads. Tech Munch Lunch 1 has 4 teachers with iPads in the classroom. Tech Munch Lunch 2 has only one teacher with iPads in the classroom. The two lunch meetings run differently based on this equipment and experience.
Since the iPads are rare on campus, it is the goal of the group to share knowledge and find solutions for those who don't have the luxury of iPads. Options are available as long as access to rotating mobile computer labs remains open. Certain times of the year, technology is less available for teachers due to testing. This is an added frustration for teachers within Tech Munch but discussions are positive and solutions are being generated and shared by members of the group.
