Vishaka Ashok (Vocal)

Vishaka Ashok is a 7th grader in Chaboya middle school, Evergreen, San Jose. She has been learning carnatic vocal from Smt. Vasudha Ravi from the age of 4. Vishaka also learns violin from Smt. Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi. She hasal won many prizes in competitions like sustaining Sampradaya, Kala Aradana, Annamachariya, Papanasam Sivam, Saptami, Cleveland Aradana, etc. She is very passionate about drawing and won many prizes in art competitions as well.


Preetika Ashok (Veena)

Preetika Ashok is a senior in EVHS, Evergreen, San Jose. She learns veena from Sri. Srikanth Chary from the age of 9. She also learns carnatic vocal from Smt. Vasudha Ravi. Preetika had given lot of music concerts in USA and India. She had won many accolades and prizes on both vocal and veena. Preetika likes to read a lot and listen to any kind music all the time.


Srihari (Mridangam)

Srihari has been learning Mridangam under Trivandrum V. Balaji, disciple of Padmashri Palghat Raghu for more than 3 years. He was initially learning from Ramesh Srinivasan, disciple of Vellore Ramabhadran. Srihari has participated in many competitions. He received 1st place in Cleveland Music Competition 2017 for Junior Thani Avarthanam. He also received a special prize in Sangeeth Samrat for the Junior Mridangam competition and 3rd place for a group competition. Srihari Is been accompanying regularly in CCC, Lotus , SRFA and for students in local music school. Recently, Srihari got an invite to play in 2019 SRGMPDN youth festival at Washington DC/Baltimore.

Nikita Anand (Vocal)

Nikita has been learning Carnatic vocal from Smt. Kasthuri Shivakumar of IAIM for the past 5 years. She has participated in several singing events at Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, Papanasam Sivan, OSAAT, and Kala Aradhana. She also learns Bharathnatyam from Smt. Sundara Swaminathan of Kala Vandana Dance School. She is very passionate about pursuing both these art forms. Nikita is a 7th grader at Bret Harte Middle School in San Jose and is part of her school’s cross country and track and field team.


Aparna Ganapathi Basavapatna (Violin)

Aparna is a sophomore at Evergreen valley high school, San Jose. She began learning violin under Vid. Kanchana Sriranjani at the age of four. She now learns from Vid. Sandhya Srinath from the past 3 years. She also used to play Western classical music, and has played as a prominent 1st violin in her school advanced orchestra. Aparna has won prizes in KalaAradhana and other contests. She has played in DisneyLand and various other places as part of her Philharmonic Strings orchestra.

Apart from the violin, Aparna participated very enthusiastically in Model United Nations and has won in two prestigious conferences in the Bay Area along with her partner. She is also a very avid reader.


Rajeev Devnath (Mridangam)

Rajeev Devanath is a sixth grader at Laurelwood Elementary school He has been learning mridangam from Sri Ramesh Srinivasan for the last seven years. Recently he had his mridangam arangetram accompanying his father Sri Hari Devanath He also learns vocal music from Sri Paduka Academy. He enjoys participating in music events as a group or as an individual. Rajeev enjoys playing basketball.


Shrikanth Shivakumar (Kanjira)

Shrikanth has been learning mridangam for the past 10 years from Sri. Vinod Seetharaman. He also learns Carnatic vocal music from Sri. Neyveli Santhanagoplan. Shrikanth’s passion for music has motivated him in the art of accompanying . He successfully performed his Arangetram in Mridangam with his brother accompanying Shri Sangeeta Rathnakara Neyveli Santhanagopalan. He has widely accompanied upcoming talents in Bay Area and looking forward to accompany more. Today he will be playing kanjira. He is a freshman at cal State East Bay studying computer engineering.

Prisha Balan (Vocal)

Prisha Balan has been learning Carnatic vocal under Smt. Kasthuri Shivakumar (IAIM) for the past 5 years and is very passionate about pursuing this art form. Prisha has been performing solo and in group in various musical events in bay area and has been part of "Anvayam" and the Carnatic Epic Choir at Cleveland Aradhana for the past four years. She also learns Bharatanatyam under Smt. Mythili Kumar, the founder of Abhinaya Dance Company. She is a seventh-grader at Kennedy Middle School in Cupertino and is part of the Kennedy girls’ volleyball team.


Urmika Balaji (Violin)

Urmika was initiated into carnatic violin at the age of 7 by her father Shri Mahesh Balaji. She was fortunate to become a student of Sangita Kalanidhi Padmasri A Kanyakumari from the summer of 2015 onwards. She has had vocal training from Shri Hari Devanath of Sri Paduka Academy. She is currently under the guidance of her uncle Shri.K.Chandrasekaran. Urmika is a 9th grader at Homstead High school. Besides music, Urmika loves to do acrylic painting and read books.


Vivek Arvind (Mridangam)

Vivek Arvind, a local bay area mridangist, started his lessons on mridangam at the age of six under Sri. Ganesh Ramanarayanan, a disciple of late Sri. Palghat Raghu. In the last three years, Vivek has provided mridangam accompaniment for several vocal and instrumental performances in different events in the bay area. Vivek is an avid tennis player and attends Cupertino Middle School.
