Sahana Venkatesh (Vocal)

Sahana Venkatesh has been learning music since the age of five from Smt. Jayashree Dasarathy. She has participated in many of her music school, Vidya Peetam’s programs, and has performed in many other venues for festivals like Rama Navami and Thyagaraja Day. Sahana is also an active participant in her school’s choir. She is currently a sophomore at Lynbrook High School in San Jose.

Vikkram Bharati (Mrudhangam)

Vikram Bharati is a young mridangist who is passionate about Carnatic music. He is a disciple of Vidwan Shri. Neyveli. R. Narayanan in Mrudangam. Vikram also learns Carnatic Vocal under the guidance of Young Maestro Shri. Abhishek Raghuram. He has accompanied many artists in concerts in the US and in India. His other interests include baseball, theatre, speech and debate. Vikram is a freshman at Pinewood School, Los Altos Hills.

Keshavan Narayanan Srivatsan (Violin)

Keshavan Narayanan Srivatsan is a Carnatic vocalist and violinist, belonging to the Legendary Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar & Palghat K.V. Narayanaswamy Lineage. He has been training in vocal music under his parents Smt. Subhapriya K. Srivatsan and Hemmige Sri V. Srivatsan since a very young age and continues to train on the violin with his father. Keshavan has also had the rare privilege of learning with illustrious musicians such as Vidushi Smt. Padma Narayanaswamy (his Parama-guru-pathni), Vidushi Smt. Jayalakshmi Santhanam and Vidwan Sri R.K. Shriramkumar. Keshavan is an 8th grader at Rolling Hills Middle School, Los Gatos.

Sweta Malyala (Vocal)

Sweta is a 7th Grader at Centerville Junior High in Fremont. She began learning Carnatic Music at the age of 5 from Smt. Akila Shankar, and began learning from Smt. Rajarajeshwary Bhat over Skype at the age of 9. She has participated and won prizes in various events, including OSAAT and Kala Aradhana. She regularly sings in local temples for occasions.

Sweta also learns Hindustani music from Smt. Archana and Sri Manoj Tamhankar. She has recently begun learning carnatic violin from Dr. Saravanapriyan Sriraman, disciple of Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. Apart from Indian music, she has also been learning Piano from the age of 5. She currently studies piano at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Sweta's favorite subject is math, and she is an avid reader. She was part of an all-girl robotics team that placed 2nd at the state championships. Her hobbies include sudoku, graphic design, and playing badminton.

Vittal Thirumalai (Violin)

Vittal Thirumalai is 13 years old, learning both Carnatic vocal and violin from Srimathi Padma Shankar, a senior disciple of Padmabhushan Lalgudi G. Jayaraman. He initially started learning Carnatic violin at the age of seven from Dr. Saravanapriyan Sriraman, disciple of Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. Vittal has also learnt Carnatic vocal since age 5 for seven years from Srimathi Latha Sriram, disciple of Padmabhushan Shri P S Narayanaswamy. Vittal has been performing in both violin and vocal solo concerts in many bay area events, school productions, and has been accompanying for vocal artists and music school festivals. He is a 7th grader at MSA junior high school. He likes to solve creative math puzzles, and his other passion includes chess, basketball and robotics.

Nitin Sampath (Mrudangam)

Nitin Sampath is a junior at American High School in Fremont. He has been learning mridangam from Sri. Gopi Lakshminarayanan of the Sharadha School of Tala Vadhya for the past 5 years. Nitin regularly accompanies at CCC, plays at several school events and temples, and also competes in various music competitions. He is part of the RAGA(N) team which held its first carnatic music festival in San Francisco this February. He is an ardent soccer fan and is passionate about public speaking.

Vaikunth Jagannathan (Vocal)

Vaikunth Jagannathan is an 8th grader at Lawson Middle School. He learns vocal music from Guru Smt. Shanthi Shriram. Vaikunth has participated and won many prizes in various events including the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, Papanasam Sivan Competition, and Annamacharya Utsavam. He also frequently performs in many Bay Area Events. In his spare time, he learns western guitar, plays basketball, enjoys drawing, and is interested in digital media and modern technology.

​Shreyas Bharadwaj (Flute)

​Shreyas Bharadwaj, an 8th grader at Kennedy Middle, has been learning flute from Sri Mohan Rangan Govindaraj for the past 5 years. He began performing at the age of 11, and won many prizes at competitions such as the Kala Aradhana and the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. Apart from music, Shreyas enjoys sports and math.

Ajay Gopi (Mrudangam)

Ajay Gopi has been learning mridangam for past 6 years from his father Sri. Gopi Lakshminarayanan, disciple of late Sri. Kumbakonam NarayanaSwamy Iyer. He also gets additional training from Sri. Kallidaikurichi Sivakumar, disciple of Sri. Palghat Raghu. Ajay had his arangetram on July, 2013 with Sri. Neyveli Santhanagopalan on the vocal and Sri. Hemmige V. Srivatsan on the violin. Ajay played junior level concerts during December Music Season, 2013. Ajay regularly accompanies younger upcoming artists in bay area in organizations such as Swara Lahari, Carnatic Chamber Concerts, Lotus, SR Fine Arts, Nandhalala and Trivalley music circle.

Ajay has won many Mridangam competitions such as Cleveland Aradhana, Tambaram Music Circle (India), Papanasam Sivan competitions, OSAAT, Nadanritya, etc. Ajay is 11th grader and he also learns Carnatic Vocal at Sri Paduka Academy.
